BMKG Warns about Rain accompanied by Lightning in the late Evening

Jakarta is expected to see light-moderate rain in some regions on Thursday (6/17), according to the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), which has called on Jakarta residents to prepare themselves with umbrellas and rain coats.

"Jakartans must be aware of the potential for rain accompanied by lightning in South and East Jakarta in the late evening," stated BMKG's official site.

In the afternoon, light rain is expected to fall in West and Central Jakarta, followed by rain accompanied by lightning in South Jakarta, moderate rain in East Jakarta, as well as cloudy in North Jakarta and Thousand Islands.

BMKG: Rain Expected in Parts of Jakarta Today

Entering the evening, all five regions would see cloudy, including in Thousand Islands. Then at tomorrow's dawn, South and East Jakarta would be clear cloudy, but light rain in Thousand Islands.

Temperatures in five regions and Thousand Islands are predicted at 24 to 33 degrees Celsius with air humidity of 70 to 95 percent.
